County to Kids: Stop Selling Lemonade to Raise Money for Cancer

You have got to be kidding me.

The Washington Post reports that Montgomery County sent inspectors on Thursday to shut down a lemonade stand in the neighborhood of Congressional Country Club, home of this year’s U.S. Open golf tournament. The inspectors told a group of elementary school kids that because they didn’t have a permit, they had to shut down and pay a fine of $500.

The kids were raising money for Just Tryan It, which is hosting a kid’s triathlon on Sunday in Bethesda. Proceeds benefit pediatric cancer.

I cannot believe how ridiculous this is. Next thing you’ll tell me, Japanese scientists will invent burgers made out of human poop.
